Our 2nd annual conference is in less than a month. On October 10th, starting at 10:00 AM Central, we have another great lineup of speakers who will speak from their experience with chronic illness and pain, mental health, and the caregiver perspective. In other words, there is something for everyone!
Our theme is “Bearing Hope Together,” based on Philippians 2:1-4. Philippians 2:2 says, “…make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.” Living with chronic pain and illness is often isolating. We need each other. We cannot do this alone.
Dr. Nate Brooks, author of Disrupted Journey, will speak to us at 10:00 AM about his experience as a husband caring for his wife with serious chronic illness. His session is titled, “Are We Sure the Burden Is Light, Jesus?” There will be a special session from Broken and Mended founder and executive director, David Heflin, and the board president, Timothy Gunnells about finding purpose in pain.
After a one-hour lunch break, Sarah Walton, author of several books, including her latest book Jesus Will Meet You There, will kick off our afternoon at 2:00 PM. Her session is called “Hurting Sheep Are Redeemed in the Arms of The Good Shepherd.” Amber Ginter, author and mental health advocate, will have our last main session of the day at 3:00 PM in a session called “Fierce Hope and What We Pour Ourselves Into.” All three speakers will be back at 4:00 PM for a closing Q&A session.
Just like last year, this event is free! Just like last year, you need to register. Here is the link to register so that you will receive the live YouTube links as well as have access to the sessions after the event. Register!
We are excited to continue this new tradition for encouraging the chronically ill and hurting. We sincerely hope you will join us!
